Songfinch vs Songlorious: price, speed, changes

Oct 27, 2026By the NameSong team

Songfinch vs Songlorious comes down to one question: do you want to choose the exact singer, or control the exact words? Songfinch lets you browse its musicians and hire one, who writes and records your song with no AI, from $179 and in about seven days. Songlorious has its own songwriters and producers make the song with licensed singers' voices and AI-assisted tools, from $200 for two minutes and in four days, and you approve every lyric line before anything is recorded.

Everything below was read from their own sites on 27 October 2026. We are an AI song service, so we also say where neither of them is the right buy, and where both of them beat us.

How you pick the singer

This is the biggest practical difference between the two. Songfinch is built around the artist: its homepage shows a roster with each musician's price, rating and number of songs, and its homepage invites you to browse more than 1,500 musicians and watch their videos before choosing. The person you hire is the person who writes and sings, so you know the voice before you pay.

Songlorious is built around the song. You choose a genre, a mood, a length and an artist voice from its catalog, then its songwriters write the lyrics and its producers build the track. Its FAQ is open about the method: it calls itself human-led and technology-assisted, uses AI-assisted tools in production, and says the voices come from singers who agreed to work with it and are paid for it.

If you already love a particular singer's sound, Songfinch is the only one of the two where you hire that exact person. If you care more about the words being right than about who sings them, Songlorious gives you more say.

Price: closer than it looks

At the bottom, Songfinch is $21 cheaper: $179 against $200. Two things narrow or reverse that gap. Songfinch's own FAQ quotes $199.99 as the starting price, and its popular artists charge $199 to $299, with a few far higher. Songlorious includes four-day delivery in its price, while Songfinch's standard is seven days.

A few worked totals, using only the prices on their pages:

  • A two-minute Songlorious song, four-day delivery: $200.
  • A three-minute Songlorious song, next day: $335.
  • A Songfinch song from a $199 artist, standard seven days: $199, plus a rush fee if you need it sooner.
  • A Songfinch song from one of its most in-demand artists: $399 to $1,099 before extras.

Both sell extras on top. Songfinch has an add-on menu with things like extra verses and instrumentals, and offers four interest-free payments. Songlorious sells a backing track, a commercial license, streaming release and a USB drive.

Delivery time

Songlorious is faster on the standard tier: four days against seven. Its FAQ also says the song arrives by 11:59 pm Eastern on the date you pick, and shows how much of that time goes to your edits and the recording.

For a tight deadline, both can move quickly at a price. Some Songfinch artists deliver in 24 hours. Songlorious charges $85 for next-day delivery. Whichever you choose, order with a couple of days of margin before the event, because a fixed date with a person in the loop always carries some risk.

Revisions and control over the words

Songlorious gives you the most control before anything is sung. It emails the finished lyrics while the song is being written, and you can reword any line at no cost, as long as each line stays within about three words of its original length so it still fits the melody. After delivery, anything that does not match your order, such as a missing must-have detail or a glitch in the recording, is fixed free; other changes carry a fee you are quoted first.

Songfinch's pages describe changes in two ways. The FAQ on its how-it-works page says each song comes with up to five lines of lyric changes and pronunciation fixes, through its Lyric Assist Tool. Its song revisions page describes optional, paid revisions through a Change Request tool where you name the amount you would like to offer the artist, and lists changes it does not do, such as altering the instruments or adding lines in the middle of a verse. Ask Songfinch which applies to your order before you rely on a free change.

When Songfinch is the better pick

  • You want to hear and hire a specific musician.
  • Knowing that a person wrote and sang it, with no AI involved, matters to you or to them.
  • You need it within a day and one of its 24-hour artists suits the style.
  • You would rather spread the cost over four payments.

Our full Songfinch review covers its terms and what reviewers report.

When Songlorious is the better pick

  • You want to approve every lyric line before it is recorded.
  • You need a longer song: it sells up to six minutes.
  • You want a standard turnaround of four days rather than seven.
  • You would like to hear about 30 seconds before paying the second half, and accept that the first half is not returned if you stop there.
  • You plan to use the song commercially or release it on streaming services, which it sells as add-ons.

The first 60 seconds are free to hear, ready in about two minutes. $12.99 only if you keep the whole song.

When an AI song makes more sense than either

Both studios cost $179 or more and take days. An AI song is the better buy in three situations: when the budget is closer to $15 than $200, when the date is today or tomorrow, and when you want to hear the actual song before any money changes hands.

NameSong is one example. You type their name, pick who they are and the occasion, write up to three short lines, and choose one of seven styles and a female or male voice. About two minutes later the first 60 seconds play, free and with no card, and every lyric line is on the page. Keeping the full two-minute song is $12.99, once. If a name is hard to say, you type how it sounds, and the lyric sheet keeps the real spelling.

What they typed: “We met on a rainy platform in Cork in 2016. She lent me her umbrella and kept it for a year. Every Sunday she sings to the dog, Murphy, while the toast burns. Ten years this October.” All samples

That sample came from a husband's short brief about a rainy station in Cork, a borrowed umbrella and a dog called Murphy. It shows the limit as well as the strength: four details make a complete two-minute song, but there is no room for a whole decade.

When an AI song is the wrong choice

Choose a studio if any of these is true:

  • You want a particular human voice, or the recipient would care that a person sang it.
  • You want to shape the lyrics line by line with someone; we show every line, and changes go through one free re-record per song rather than line edits.
  • The song needs to be longer than about two minutes.
  • It will be performed in public, sold or released. Our songs are for personal, non-commercial use; anything beyond that needs our written permission.
  • You need a language or style we do not offer. We sing in English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese, rap in English only, across seven styles.
