What NameSong is

NameSong is a website for making a song as a gift. You write a few lines about one person, a partner, a parent, a friend, and get back an original song of about two minutes with their first name in the chorus. It is meant for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, Mother's and Father's Day, graduations and plain thank-yous, and for buyers who would rather hear the song than trust a description of it.

How it works

• Answer a few short questions: their first name (and how to say it, if people get it wrong), who they are to you, the occasion, and up to three lines about them.
• Pick one of seven styles, a voice and a tone: heartfelt, funny or hype.
• Enter your email. No card, no password. About two minutes later the first 60 seconds play on the song page, with every lyric line beside the player.
• Keep it for $12.99, paid once, or leave it and pay nothing.

How a song is made

An AI language model turns your lines into verses and a chorus. An AI music model writes the melody and sings it. No human artist performs your song, and we say so on every page.

We picked the music model by testing seven of them on the same three names, Sarah, Siobhan and Joaquin. In our listening check it was the only one that sang all three right.

Names, sung right

Singers, human or AI, trip over names like Saoirse, Niamh, Siobhan, Nguyen and Joaquin. We keep a list of them and respell the name for the singer, while your lyric sheet keeps the real spelling. You can also type how to say any name yourself. If it still sounds off, every song gets one free re-record, and after you pay, a name sung wrong gets a free remake.

What you get with each song

• The full song as an MP3 download, and a lyric sheet to print or save as a PDF.
• A private link that plays the song and shows the lyrics without an account, with your name and a short note on it. You can switch it off at any time.
• A free vertical photo video: your photos set to the song with the lyrics on screen, made in your browser, plus 15- and 30-second cuts for stories and Reels.
• Before you pay, a 15-second teaser link to tell them a song is coming.
• Songs in English, German, French, Spanish or Japanese; rap is in English only. The site itself also reads in Chinese.
• Optional extras, priced on their own: an AI singer video of the chorus with a fictional singer, and three of your photos turned into short moving clips.
