For your sister
A birthday song for your sister, from the one who shared her bedroom
Nobody can tease her like you can, and nobody else gets to. Use three lines from growing up together and we turn them into a birthday song with her name in the chorus.

Older sister, younger sister
Writing up to an older sister, thank her for something she did first so you did not have to. Writing down to a younger one, tell her what you noticed her becoming. Either way, one line of honest pride makes the chorus land.
Choosing a style
Upbeat pop with a female voice makes it feel like the two of you singing in the car again. A piano ballad suits a milestone birthday or a hard year she came through.
For example
A brother might write for his sister’s birthday: she taught me to ride a bike by letting go without telling me; she still steals the last slice of pizza at every family dinner; she just opened her own bakery and works harder than anyone I know. The bike gives the song its first verse, the pizza its joke, and the bakery its pride.
