How to create a song for someone
There are three ways: write it yourself tonight, commission a songwriter, or have one made from your story in minutes. Here is how each works, what it costs, and a structure you can use whichever you pick.

Three ways to do it
| Write it yourself | Hire a songwriter studio | Use an AI song service | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | From about $179 (Songfinch) | $12.99 here |
| Time | An evening | Days to a week | About two minutes |
| Who sings | You | A real artist | An AI singer |
| Best when | Your voice matters more than polish | You want a human artist and have time | You want it polished, soon, and to hear it first |
Write it yourself in one evening
- Pick one feeling. Thank you, I miss you, I would choose you again. One is enough for a short song.
- List five specific details. A place, a habit, a phrase they always say, a thing they made, a date. Specific beats poetic.
- Put their name in the chorus. Write two or four lines you will repeat, with their name in the first line.
- Spend one verse on the past and one on now. Each verse uses two or three of your details.
- Borrow a simple tune or three chords. For a private gift, a melody you already hum is fine; keep it slow so the words land.
- Record it on your phone in one take. A little shaky is part of the charm.
A structure that works for any song like this
The examples are from a real anniversary song made on this site. The wife wrote four sentences; the song is on the samples page.
A custom made song does not need a studio: to create a personalized song you only need their name, who they are to you and a few true details.
| Part | What goes in it | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Verse 1 | How it started | "You shared your small umbrella on the platform" |
| Chorus | Their name and what they mean to you | "Saoirse, my love, you are my home" |
| Verse 2 | Who they are now | "Serenading Murphy on the kitchen rug" |
| Chorus | Repeat it | Same lines; this is the part they will hum |
| Ending | One line for the occasion | "Now ten Octobers have flown quickly by" |
Or have it made from your story
If you would rather not sing, type their name above and answer a few short questions: who they are to you, the occasion, and up to three lines about them. We write the lyrics, an AI singer records the song, and you hear the first 60 seconds in about two minutes. Keep it for $12.99, or walk away and pay nothing.
Hard names are fine. Type how to say it if it is unusual and we respell it for the singer, while the lyric sheet keeps the real spelling.
