One song for two people
The name field takes up to 40 characters, so you can type both names or the names the family uses: "Nana and Pop", "Grandma Jo and Papa Ray". The chorus will sing exactly that. If one of the names is unusual, type how to say it and the singer gets a respelling while the lyric sheet keeps the real spelling.

- A job, a farm, a war, a move: the story they tell every year.
- How many children and grandchildren there are now, and the newest one’s name.
- The game, the carol or the argument that happens every year.
- What they taught the family that everyone still does.
Collecting lines from the family
Ask each cousin or sibling for one sentence in a group chat, then pick the three most specific ones. Specific beats sentimental: "Pop still carves the turkey with the knife from his wedding" will do more than "they are the heart of our family". Credit the family in your own words when you play it.
Style and how to play it
For most grandparents a slow piano ballad or country is the safest choice, because the words stay clear. Play it from a phone through a speaker, not tiny phone speakers, and turn it up: older ears catch more of the lyrics when it is loud enough. If the family is spread out, play it on a video call and send the MP3 afterwards so they can hear it again.
